I live in a guesthouse in Canggu. It smells like incense and ambition.

My name is Kassimi. I'm 30 years old. 80 kilograms.

I work in social media — like everyone else avoiding a real job.

Because real jobs are for people who've given up on real life.

I wake up at 6:30. First meeting of the day. Direct line to the CEO of the universe. No email required.

I believe in self-optimization. 2 hours of deep sleep. High-protein yogurt and 5 eggs a day.

My basal metabolic rate is 1,831 calories. I burn more doing nothing than most do working for a whole day.

But that's not enough.

I want the 8-pack.

Around here, a 6-pack is below average.

I eat 150g of protein and 2500 calories on a deficit — because numbers don't lie, but mirrors do.

Got a membership at a coworking, so I can pretend to be productive.

Sometimes the pretending is so convincing, I almost get some work done.

It's time for another meeting with the Almighty. But also… steps. 1478 between the office and the mosque.

I kneel in submission. But I rise in confusion.

I ask God for clarity. Then open my instagram feed to find the answer myself.

I train 6 times a week.

This is where I suffer voluntarily. So I don't suffer involuntarily.

I like to start with handstand pushups: because regular pushups are average.

I end my days with thermal shock therapy. To prove myself I still feel something.

Late work session. MacBook glow. The modern campfire.

I stare into it and hallucinate success.

But tomorrow won't build itself.

So I plan it. Before it plans me.

I ride back home fast.

Not because I'm late.

But because silence only comes at 80 kilometers an hour.

Ashwagandha. Magnesium. Melatonin. Sleep doesn't come naturally anymore.

But tomorrow I'll do it all again.

Because the alternative is becoming…

Ordinary.
